MIAMI — The longtime house of the Miami Warmth is getting a brand new title.
Miami-Dade County has finalized a brand new 19-year settlement with FTX, a cryptocurrency alternate, to rename AmericanAirlines Area.
“It is a historic funding for Miami-Dade — $90 million over 19 years that we are going to put to make use of to sort out a few of our most urgent challenges and construct a more healthy, safer group,” Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said in a statement Friday. “We’re grateful to FTX for his or her funding in Miami-Dade and proud to carry this partnership house.”
The bayfront enviornment alongside Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami has been referred to as AmericanAirlines Area because it opened in 1999.
Below the brand new deal, the venue will likely be referred to as FTX Area.
“Your complete FTX household is thrilled to launch this partnership with Miami-Dade County and the Warmth,” FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried stated in a press release. “By this partnership, FTX is not simply placing our title on an iconic constructing. Naming rights are negotiated by the county, which owns the sector, in coordination with the Warmth.
